Tuesdays Treasures

When I was a little girl I started collecting unicorns. It was a nice collection to start. When we went on vacation or when my dad went on business trips, unicorns were the thing to bring back. Quite a few of them have broken over the years, since most were glass, but I still have a dozen or so. It is still such a meaningful collection to me, it reminds me of growing up. To this day, everytime I see a unicorn when I am out, I have to resist buying it! I hope I can pass the collection onto Pumpkin one day.

I use to LOVE unicorns and like you I would have to resist buying them. I'm afraid the few I had were replaced by a collection of something else...hummingbirds, I think...and now it's dragonflies...funny how things capture our hearts for whatever meaning we find in them.

so funny, debbie.....that was jamie's collection also.....she had so many, and a few years ago, she went through them (they were still here) and chose her favorites....and i even kept a couple....just for my memories also!

Love the unicorn, it reminds me of Jamie (like my mom said it was her collection too). I used to collect little cat and dog figurines. Somewhere, I still have them all in a box! Thanks for sharing.

yeah, this reminded me a lot of Jamie. I think that one time she told me she saw a unicorn fly across the ping pong table in our basement. I totally believed her.

Hey...who's to say I DIDN'T see a unicorn fly across the ping pong table?? :) Brings back lots of memories Deb! :) Every once in a while I come across a treasured little statue it takes me back. Usually it makes me think of how long it took me to dust my shelf every Sat. morning before I could play because I had so darn many!! :)

You had to dust your shelf every Sat? I don't know how I got away with never dusting mine! Yes, like everyone else this little unicorn reminded me of Jam and all of our treasured collection. Jessie had pigs and cows? I had boys and girls. Cass had penguins and what? Jam had unicorns and ducks I believe. Like cory said, she had dogs and cats. Oh the memories!

Wow! I did not realize how popular unicorns were or that Jamie collected them as well. How fun! I feel for you Jamie, I had to dust my collection as well...not a fond childhood memory. :)
