A winter escape

We decided to escape the Valley on Monday and head up north for some fun in the snow. Luckily Hubby's brother and wife live up there so we got to visit with them. Their house is on the edge of a preserve, so we were able to go walk and play in the snow without all the crowds! It was a really fun day and the perfect escape for all of us. Critter had been in the snow twice before, but never this much. There was a ton of snow on the ground and it was perfect and still powdery. He liked to stand in it, sit in it and then wanted to be held. Pumpkin just had a blast! She had fun playing with her aunt and uncle and their dogs. It was just fun to see her have so much fun. Boy, they slept GOOD on the way home!
He is still figuring out what this cold, wet, white stuff is all about. He was having fun though! She found their ice scraper and thought it was the perfect "hiking stick". Luckily her aunt and uncle are really laid back and did not mind at all. The snow was so deep at some points she really did need it to help balance her to get out of the snow drifts!
You gotta love the parents who stop and take a picture of their child after falling face first in the snow before wiping their face clean! :) He is just so cute though...
It was perfect snow angel snow! I have a picture of the snow angel by itself, but it was hard to see.

This was after almost an hour of being outside and Critter was getting chilly. This is one of their dogs who kept coming up to him to try to warm him up. It was adorable! Critter was not quite sure what to make of it, he just knew that the doggie was warm (especially since Critter kept taking his mittens off!)
My boy and me. We could not really get any pictures with Pumpkin because she was having too much fun to stop and take a picture!
Following her uncle up a hill to play more. Yes, the snow it at least up to her upper leg. Like I said, it was good she had that ice scraper!
It was such a fun day, but now I remember why I moved here away from the snow and cold. It is nice to visit, but I am glad I don't have to shovel it or deal with it all winter! I am too spoiled by the weather now.

Happy Heart Day!

From us to you on this day of love....thank you for being in our lives. We love you dear friends and family. Hope you are able to spend the day with those whom you cherish. There is so much to be thankful for today. My heart is full. (Pumpkin had fun writing out bags and cards this year. She can copy her letters very nicely and knows what she is writing! She wanted me to share her message above with you!)
My little heartbreaker

It is rather hard lately to get a picture of them together. This is what I have for today! :)

Enjoy your day! I know we will....

A little of this, and a little of that....

We have had lots of fun random things going on here lately. Really busy days, yet I am not quite sure what they have been filled with. Both Pumpkin and Critter are getting older by the day. Critter is talking more and more each day and getting a little more clear too! I do want to stop and say congrats to an amazing, beautiful family for bringing home their adorable miracle. We are so excited for you and hope you are enjoying every day!

Now, here are some snip its of our lives!
We had friends over today to decorate Valentine Cookies (yes, I have officially lost my mind!) I have Critter his own cookie, without frosting, but Pumpkin did not agree with that. She had to decorate one and give it to him. This is him just getting into it....
Yeah Mom, frosting in the hair is totally awesome!

That was good...can I have another!
Can you tell he enjoyed his chocolate frosted cookie! :)

Pumpkin has been enjoying wearing her "fancy" clothes lately. She is my princess tomboy. She loves to wear dresses and skirts, yet still wants to climb trees and play in the rocks. Why not! :) These are her "fancy" new boots. I could not resist. We are hopefully heading up north next week to play in the snow for the day, and she did need boots for it. Who says they can not have pom-poms, princesses and sparkles! She has gotten so much older! I often wonder where my little baby girl went.

Okay, this might be hard to see, but Critter is making this scrunched up face that he gets the biggest kick out of. Apparently I made the same face when I was a kid. He closes his eyes and pushes his lips and nose together. It is really adorable!
We went to our favorite play place on Monday with my MOMS Club friends. Pumpkin (and now Critter) LOVE it there! They have this great foam pit the kids love and I love how their pictures look in it.
I don't know if there is much better than getting to throw big red foam blocks at your parents! She was very determined to get it right at Daddy! :)
This is the crazy thing. Pumpkin has always had fairly large feet for her age. They are finally getting a little bit more normal. Now it is Critter who has HUGE feet. We are handing his shoes down to one friend whose son is 10 weeks older and then another friend whose son just turned 3! Critter is only 14 months old! His feet just look like they are almost Pumpkin's size in this picture! I guess at this point I should wish for him to be tall because otherwise his feet might look out of place! :) I guess he really is taking after his Daddy....man I am not looking forward to finding shoes for this kid when he is a teenager!

Critter is growing up

Our little man is growing up. He got his first haircut on Saturday! Hubby has wanted it cut for a while now and I finally agreed. When the back was wet it was a bit below his shoulders. So....off we went to get it cut on Saturday. I often cut Pumpkin's bangs, but I did not trust myself to do Critter's.The before shot...he looks oh so thrilled!

He really did not like the spray bottle on his head. He loves water being poured on his head, but apprarently the spray was not his thing :)

I know this one is a little blury, but it is a cute shot of how grown up he looks from behind! He looks like such a little man now!

There are my boys. I keep on looking at Critter and realizing how big he has gotten. He really looks like a little man now. He did pretty good, especially when they were done! :)
