My aunt and uncle from the east coast came to visit. We wanted to do something outdoors and different with them. What is more different than traveling back to the Renaissance! :)
We headed out to the Festival. We have never been before. The kids were super excited.
We were lucky, our knight won the joust! The kids got a kick out of that. It was a warm and sunny day...luckily we had seats in the shade. It would have been a much shorter day had it been any hotter!
It is hard to describe how funny the kids were on this ride. We gave them a limit on the number of "extra" things they could do. They were rather thoughtful with how they used up those rides. They took turns making the "bat wings" fly. When one was pulling the rope, the other was pretending to relax and wave. They were making the funniest faces! For something so simple, they had such fun.
This is the face Pumpkin kept making each time around at us. She would put her feet up and make this face...while trying really hard not to smile. Usually she ended up laughing at herself! :)
Thanks to grandparents...they both got to do the bungee cord jumping thing. They were super excited. Pumpkin was a little nervous...can you tell! :)
This is one of the few pictures i have of her smiling. The other ones she looks a little freaked out. Afterwards she said she did not think it went quite that high. I was pretty amazed at how high they went! I will tell you that she had a death-grip on those sides. She would not let go!
Critter was so excited for his turn that he ran up while sister was still getting unhooked!
He was so excited to be bouncing. I did feel bad for him though. He really wanted to flip while jumping. He saw someone doing flips while in the air. He kept either moving his feet or his head. He could not get the motion of moving both in order to flip. Luckily the guy who hooked them in and out grabbed him to stop him and flipped him. He was so excited about that! He is usually my more cautious kid...but not with anything regarding gymnastics! He is then a little dare-devil :)
It was a really great day. Critter and Hubby even split a turkey leg. I did not get a good picture, but it was really cute. Critter went to town on it. He loved it! I don't know if we will go back next year...but it was a great time.
