The 4 of us went up to my parent's house the last weekend of August to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was warm and we got to go swimming twice. This summer was so busy we did not get up to their house as much as last summer. This was probably the last weekend to have the kids swim up there. It was such a fun day of swimming, not napping :), eating and playing. I know we had a good time, and I think my parents did as well!
Pumpkin is now even more of a fish than ever. She LOVES to swim. She can hold her breath way to long for her momma's comfort and swim all around the pool. She does not like regular goggles for the water. She likes these...
She does not like water going up her nose, so she likes these. I just love her in them! She looks...well it is hard to describe! I have a feeling pictures like these might become bribery pictures later in life :)
Our princess tomboy! That is the best way to describe our girl. She was running and leaping off of the pool ledge. Eventually both Nanny and her momma had to go inside because we were spoiling the fun being worried about cracked skulls. She was getting some good height on the jumps though. This was her attempt at a Can Opener jump...she almost had it!

Critter would not keep his ear plugs in this time. He is getting like his sister and not liking them. I am hoping his tubes fall out by next summer so he does not need to wear them and I don't have to fight with him to wear them! But...no ear plugs did not stop his fun! :) He was loving his time in the water. I struggle to throw him like this now since he has gotten so big, not quite sure how hubby did it!
My parent's got the kids bikes for their house. She got them for $5 each, so even if they don't use them a ton it is worth it. My dad went to get the mail, and Critter had to go with him. I have such vivid memories of riding my bike with my dad, this picture just brings me back. I am glad he gets to help his grandson as well!
It was a great day to celebrate my dad and spend some nice family time together. Pumpkin had the idea to put golf balls on the cake. I love that she knows her grandparents so well! Days like this just make me so happy...
